Staying at the ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn

You will stay in a beautiful place with wide views of the wonderful Swartberg mountains that change colour every hour. Relax and enjoy the swimming pool and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. You also have a magnificent view while swimming and when sitting at your table.

The Cango caves are one of the largest stalagmite caves in the world. Some of these sandstone formations are beautifully and colourfully lit. You can book a special tour with an adventurous touch of about 1.5 hours. Like real speleologists you have to crawl through small openings and that is a very nice experience for children.

On the way from the Cango caves and to your lodge, you’ll pass by the ostrich farm. Children can feed the animals, stand on an ostrich egg and do a lot more things. They discover how funny these animals are. There are several visits of one hour a day, completely tailored to the children.

Don’t forget to enjoy a nice ostrich steak for dinner in the lodge.

From here you can continue the garden route to Swellendam with the Bontebok National Park. This is an ideal stop before you continue to the wine region of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
