Met de tuktuk door Bangkok met kinderen

Day 1: Arrival at Bangkok

Today you arrive in Bangkok, quite often with a morning flight from Belgium. Take some rest at your hotel room, as we especially arranged an early check-in.

If you feel like discovering Bangkok already, go for a ride in a tuk tuk in the late afternoon. Great fun for the kids!

Day 2: Cycling through Bangkok

You will be picked up early in the morning by our driver who will take you to the starting point of this tour. There are bicycles for children and seats for the little ones. The tour takes about 3 hours and can be easily done by inexperienced cyclists.

A bike tour in Bangkok is not only a perfect way to escape the heat of this huge city, it is also the easiest route to the heart of this immense and diverse metropolis.  As the main roads with dense traffic will be avoided, you will visit areas, inaccessible to cars and many other traffic. You will cycle on small roads, in narrow alleys, along local markets and on footpaths.

The tour starts in the heart of Chinatown, one of Bangkok’s most busy neighbourhoods. We cycle through winding narrow alleys, along covered markets, warehouses, shops and workshops. You can hear the operating workshops and smell the food of cooking people on the street. The local population is mainly Buddhist. They visit temples in the area, perform ritual burnings of paper, believe in spirits – all this being part of an ancient culture.

Halfway the trip we leave Chinatown and cross the Chao Phraya river. With, behind us, a magnificent view of the city skyline, we cycle into Thonburi, once the capital of Thailand (historically speaking, Thonburi was the third capital of Thailand). You immediately notice that this part of the city is much quieter: a lot greener and the people are more friendly and easy-going. We cycle through residential areas, occasionally greeted by smiling inhabitants. Now we are truly offroad! We now experience the REAL Bangkok.

Day 3: Leaving Bangkok

Today you leave Bangkok, either you go to the building block “Thai Cooking workshop and visiting monkeys” or you fly to the north for the building block “Trip with a rickshaw and to the elephants in Chiang Mai” or “Drive a tuk tuk yourself and go to a Thai school“.
