Anyone travelling with children under 18 years of age must carry a copy of the birth certificate in English. This can be obtained at the town hall.
When not both parents of the child are travelling with the child, a written consent of the non-travelling parent is required, in English! This can be drawn up by yourself, but must be made official by the city council.
Please note: this permission may not be older than 6 months prior to arrival in South Africa.
