Zoeven over moerassen in de Everglades

Day 1: Arrival at Everglades City

On the first day you can drive into the Everglades yourself and get to know the wonderful world of the swamps. There are 400 species of birds, 125 species of fish, 60 species of reptiles and amphibians, 25 species of mammals, 120 species of trees and 24 species of orchids.

Under the guidance of a park ranger, you can take a walk through the nature reserve. Go to the Shark Valley Visitor Center.

We even make sure that you can stay in the middle of the park in an eco-lodge, so that you can fully enjoy this nature reserve. A remarkable and very pleasant fact: the entire hotel with swimming pool is protected by a mosquito net. So you can swim and relax without any problems on the veranda.

Day 2: Whizzing over the swamps in the Everglades with a propeller boat

The propeller boat (airboat) is so typical for the Everglades. We book a cool trip of 40 minutes on such a boat. This will allow you to whizz over the swamps at high speed and get you to places you wouldn’t otherwise be able to see. The boat can whizz over water as well as over land! In the meantime the guide will tell you everything you want to know about the alligators, birds or turtles.

Would you like to get a little more excitment and get closer to the animals? Then choose the kayak as a means of transport through the Everglades. That’s guaranteed fun for the kids, while the parents enjoy the silence and nature.

In the afternoon you will leave for your next destination. You can go swimming with the dolphins and stay at the beautiful Key Largo or Islamorada. But you can also visit the bustling Miami or go to Fort Lauderdale, the Venice of Florida.

ATMOSPHERIC IMAGES OF THE hotel

The nice thing about this hotel is that it is located in the middle of the Everglades, so it is surrounded by mosquito netting, even the swimming pool. Nice experience!
