Day 1: Arrival at Durban

Durban is situated on the edge of a lush tropical coastline with sugar plantations. But there is also a very attractive beach here. Many Indians live in the city, so you can eat delicious curries. Durban offers cosmopolitan restaurants with a fusion of African and Asian cuisine. You’ll also find art deco, colonial architecture and a wonderful subtropical climate.

And don’t forget: Durban is a real surfer’s paradise with a real surfer’s culture. Think of graffiti paintings, surfer’s brands in the shops and Gunston 500, an annual surfing event.

Day 2: On the beach

Vacation is doing what you really like. Relax or be active? The choice is yours. Today you can relax on the beach or go surfing.

As a beginner you should go to South Beach and Addington. If you already have some experience, we recommend New Pier, Snake Park and North Beach. Cave Rock is for die-hard surfers. This is a world famous surfing spot. The best period for surfing is from April to August. It’s best to go surfing in the morning.

Day 3: Departure from Durban

Today no more chilling or surfing, but on to your next destination.  Either you go for the building block “Ziplining in the Drakensberg Mountains”, or you continue to the garden route in the south via Port Elisabeth. You therefore need to book a local flight.
