Meet the Big Five at Pilanesberg

Your lodge is located just 2 hours drive from the busy city of Johannesburg and 10 minutes from Sun City. Welcome to this breathtaking place full of beauty in the middle of the Pilanesberg National Park. Each room offers spectacular views over the bush around the resort.

Today you go on game drive with a real ranger who shows you everything in the park. On the rolling hills and open plains you can see the Big Five among many other animals: giraffes, hippos, kudu, gemsbokken, hartebeest, water buffalos, leopards and the rare brown hyenas. Did you know that more than 360 species of birds live here? In the dense forests, valleys and rolling meadows of the park live up to ten thousand animals. Pilanesberg National Park is one of the few places in Africa where an almost complete, original fauna lives.

On your way back you can drive to Sun City, a very weird water park in the middle of the mountains. Children will have undoubtedly a lot of fun on the water attractions. A nice change after all the beauty of nature!

From Pilanesberg you will discover Johannesburg (building block “By bike to Nelson Mandela”) or you will travel by plane to Port Elisabeth and then discover the building block “Have you ever seen so many elephants?” in Addo Elephants Park. You can also go to Durban where you can continue to Isimangaliso Wetland Park in Saint Lucia.
